Update for August 28th 2006
I am finally updating again!
I have been working on illustrations for a children's book by Wayne Siligo, the music director at California School for the Blind. There will be about 10 more coming as quickly as I can get them done. The book is for children with visual impairments. The illustrations are mainly for the family and friends who will be reading the book as they are not going to be textured like one might expect of felt. I am trying to do the colors in a way that people with limited vision will be able to see. I'm very excited about this project. I will update as it progresses.

I am almost finished with Poor Mouse. I need to get it all pieced together and framed. Hopefully that will be soon. I keep setting it aside for my other projects. My most recent piece is called Pink Girl. I am making it with the intention of showing it at the Pink Week show at Cricket Engine Gallery in Oakland. Hopefully it is accepted!

Update for June 6th 2006
The show at Cricket Engine gallery has ended making The Dormouse available for purchase. I have added images of the Mother's Day Heart I made for my mom. I think it turned out well. Next I will get to work on all the stuff I meant to finish last week.

Update for May 24th 2006
I should have talked about this sooner!
First of all the Bird Feeding Her babies went to a charity auction and sold making a bit of money for a friend's child's school.
Second- The Dormouse was accepted to The Art of Tea (or Why Is Soda Pop More Popular Than Tea?) at Cricket Engine gallery in Oakland. The show opened on May 19th with a mad hatter tea party, a Japanese tea ceremony, some lovely tea inspired art and quite a few people. It was my first show and my first opening. Very exciting. The show will end with another mad hatter tea party on may 28th starting at 3pm and ending at 5.
Right now im working on a piece for a belated Mother's Day gift. I will have pictures up soon. I plan to finish Poor Mouse this week and start two new projects. One will be love birds and the other will be based on the theme "patriot" for an upcoming show at Cricket Engine that I hope to be a part of.
I have recieved my first review at Shotgun-review. Yay me!
I have never been as happy with my work as I am right now.

Previous Updates
Last december I took part in the 10th annual postcard sale held at the LAB in San Francisco. This was my very first show! My entry was a series of 8 postcards relating to the idea of domestic bliss (mixed media). I was pleased to hear that they all sold.

I was asked by the LAB to take part in their benefit auction (proceeds going to the LAB itself) by donating a work of my own. This is when I decided to make "owls", the first felt picture of many to come. The auction took place on march 24th 2006. There was quite a lovely crowd and a lot of beautiful art on display. My "owls" sold and I was even happier than when the postcards sold.

Currently I am working on several projects. One is of a bird feeding its babies in her nest, which is scheduled to go to a benefit auction at a friend's child's school on the east coast. This auction will take place at the end of April 2006. very exciting!
